How Housing and Energy Efficiency Services Helps

NMCAA dedicates itself to enhancing the quality of life for community members by offering targeted programs that address housing stability and energy efficiency. These programs alleviate the burden of high utility costs as well as unsafe housing conditions, particularly for low-income households. Get started today! Check out our Emergency Home Repair or Weatherization program pages for further information and how to apply. We are here to help every step of the way.

Emergency Home Repair

Learn More about Emergency Home Repair Assistance

Emergency Home Repair assistance is available for homeowners, who have occupied their home for at least one year and reside in Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Grand Traverse, Emmet, Leelanau, Missaukee and Wexford Counties. Local municipalities have home repair funds which NMCAA can allocate to residents. The repair must present a health and safety concern to the occupant(s).

Low-Income Weatherization

Learn More about Weatherization

The Low-Income Weatherization program uses Federal and State funds to reduce energy costs for low-income households, prioritizing the elderly, people with disabilities, and children through improving the energy efficiency of homes, while ensuring health and safety. This is a free energy conservation program that can reduce energy costs for families with low income by improving the energy efficiency of their homes, with a strong focus on health and safety measures. Its primary goal is to serve the elderly, those with disabilities, and households with children.
