Volunteer
Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA) warmly invites volunteers and interns to join our efforts. To begin with, we have office locations in Traverse City, Petoskey, and Cadillac. Both group and individual volunteers are welcome. There are volunteer opportunities for short-term as well as long-term engagement. Furthermore, we can provide verification certificates upon request.
Advocate
NMCAA is committed to advancing advocacy opportunities across local, state, and federal levels. We work tirelessly to deliver economic opportunities, housing stability, nutritional security, and educational access to residents of Northwest Michigan. The disparity among socio-economically disadvantaged populations is diverse, dynamic, and continually expanding. Connect with NMCAA and the community directly by supporting our networked programs, resources, and educational opportunities. Specifically, NMCAA ranks as the 8th largest employer in Traverse City, employing over 340 people. Moreover, we also maintain offices in three of our 10-county service areas: Cadillac/Wexford, Petoskey/Emmet, and Traverse City/Grand Traverse. Furthermore, each year, NMCAA delivers approximately 228,500 services through programs focused on child and family development, senior nutrition, emergency food needs, financial empowerment, homelessness prevention, veteran support, and home energy efficiency.
In addition, our robust engagement efforts offer various partnership opportunities through both traditional and emerging media platforms. In summary, you can invest through corporate sponsorship, planned giving, or in-kind donations. Since we established the organization in 1974, NMCAA operates as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
