Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA) has developed a number of programs to help those within our 10 regions. Our community action programs serve Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Missaukee, Roscommon, and Wexford counties. Beyond this NMCAA has partnerships with other organizations to help expand their reach to 23 counties in Michigan. About this Community Action Program

Housing and Energy Efficiency Services is dedicated to addressing housing needs. By focusing on reducing energy costs we aim to alleviate financial burdens for homeowners. Furthermore, our efforts in decreasing health concerns ensure that residents live in a healthier environment. About this Community Action Program

At NMCAA, we keep our commitment of making homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring in every community across our regions. To further our commitment we partner with other organizations to expand our Homeless Prevention Program to 23 counties. By implementing strategic initiatives and providing comprehensive support, we aim to prevent homelessness before it starts. Additionally, when homelessness does occur, we work tirelessly to ensure that it is temporary. We believe in creating sustainable solutions meaning that individuals and families that work with us can achieve long-term stability.

By providing essential services, we aim to empower individuals and families to achieve financial self-sufficiency. About this Community Action Program

Our Child and Family Development programs prioritize the overall well-being of families and early childhood development through various programs. These programs are designed to foster growth and school readiness. NMCAA offers comprehensive educational programs that start prenatally and continue for infants and toddlers. Our Head Start program uses both home and center based services. We provide the resources and guidance families need to ensure their children thrive. By focusing on developmental milestones and educational foundations NMCAA achieves a strong start for every child in our community.

This community action program offers monthly food distribution programs to ensure individuals have access to nutritious meals. Additionally, Meals on Wheels provides essential support to older adults, helping them maintain a healthy diet.
