The Emergency Food Assistance Program
A Helping Hand for Hungry Times
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of income-eligible individuals by providing free emergency food help as well as nutrition assistance. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) supplies food to states, which then distribute it to local agencies like Community Action Agencies and food banks. These agencies ensure that the nourishment reaches local distribution sites in Michigan. Our team is just a call away.

Join us in Fighting Hunger
Many individuals and families face the challenge of putting meals on the table, especially during tough economic times. Rising costs of living, unexpected expenses, or sudden changes in circumstances can make it difficult to afford groceries. Without assistance, accessing enough groceries to sustain a healthy diet becomes increasingly challenging. TEFAP is here to bridge that gap by providing food help.
Participating in TEFAP ensures that you and your family have access to healthy, nourishing food when you need it most. There’s no shame in asking for help—everyone deserves to have enough to eat. By taking part in this program, you can relieve some of the stress of meal insecurity and focus on other important areas of your life. Our goal is to help you maintain a balanced diet, even in difficult times.
At NMCAA, we’re here to assist you. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. Our team is just a call away.
