Meet the Hosts
Erica Austin
Erica Austin has served as the Marketing Manager at Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA) since February 2023. Her passion for broadcast media, storytelling, and brand management drives her work. This passion inspires her to lead the agency wide brand refresh. Moreover, she hosts and produces, The Collective Us: an NMCAA Podcast.
Raised in Northern Michigan, and former Head Start student Erica earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising from Central Michigan University. Additionally, she has extensive experience in TV, radio, and marketing, with a strong background in copywriting, graphic design, and media planning.
When Erica isn’t podcasting she enjoys spending time doing activities with her young family or baking a loaf of delicious sourdough.
Ryan Buck
Ryan Buck serves as the Senior Philanthropy Officer with SEEDS Ecology and Education Centers in Traverse City, MI. With a background in Psychology and Communications from Valparaiso University, Ryan brings a wealth of experience to his role.
Additionally, he develops artists with New Leonard Media and hosts a guest-centric podcast that focuses on community positivity. Through this podcast, he connects with Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency. He now co-hosts and mentors on The Collective Us: an NMCAA Podcast. Ryan was raised in Chicago.
He first worked in Hospitality Sales & Marketing in San Francisco. Then he worked in Miami, before finally settling in Traverse City. Ryan’s passion for community shines through his meaningful connections and how he gives back. When not podcasting, you’ll find him playing in his band or enjoying the outdoors with friends and family.
