What is Weatherization

Weatherization is a free energy conservation program that can reduce energy costs for families with low income by improving the energy efficiency of their homes, with a strong focus on health and safety measures. Its primary goal is to serve the elderly, those with disabilities, and households with children.

What is Emergency Home Repair

The Emergency Home Repair Program assists eligible households in need of emergency home repairs which present a health and safety concern for the occupant(s). In collaboration with several counties in our service area, NMCAA provides funding (0% interest loans) for necessary repairs using local licensed and insured contractors.

Community Impact

Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency’s Emergency Home Repair and low-income Weatherization programs are dedicated to helping those in need within our communities; in 2022, 208 households were served. Through these programs, we improve the quality of life for and positively impact people living within the northwest region of Michigan:
