Emergency Home Repair

You’re not alone if you’re facing unexpected or urgent issues within your home. Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency’s Emergency Home Repair Program is here to help with many home repair services. This program has been designed to swiftly and efficiently address critical home repairs, ensuring home safety and habitability. Our team covers everything from roof repair, electrical issues, plumbing leaks, to repairing structural damage. Emergency home repair serves homeowners residing in: Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Missaukee, and Wexford.

The Emergency Home Repair Program fixes plumbing leaks, electrical problems, structural damage, roof repair, and many other home repair services.

Don’t let unexpected issues in your home disrupt your life, discover how our emergency home repair program can provide prompt and professional assistance you need. Start your home renovation journey by sending an email. Reach out to HEESIntake@nmcaa.net or fill out our pre-screen application for assistance.

Homeowners must be current on their mortgage and property taxes. Proof of insurance must also be provided and remain active throughout the life of the loan.

**Funding for cost of the repair is provided by a 0% interest loan with no monthly payments if the assistance is $2,501 or greater. Loans are payable at transfer of ownership. Repairs under $2,500 offered as a grant with no payment required.

Home Repair Services List

This Emergency Home Repair Program may be able to assist with repairs such as:
Installing or repairing wells or septic systems
Repairing or replacing heating units or water heaters
Repairing or replacing a roof that is leaking or is damaging the interior
Providing handicap accessibility to the home or bathroom
Repairing or replacing dangerous electrical connections
Repairing plumbing leaks
Other repairs that affect the well-being of the occupants
