Tax Volunteers

We’ll Train You

Volunteer at NMCAA

Are you interested in making a difference in your community and meeting new people? Do you want to learn how to do taxes for free? You can start today by registering to become a volunteer tax preparer! By becoming an IRS-certified volunteer, you can prepare taxes for low to moderate income individuals, families, seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, or those who speak limited English. 40-hour IRS-certified training is included! Virtual training materials become available in November. Our annual one week in-person training takes place in early January each year.

We also need volunteers to answer phone lines, greet tax clients, provide intake and clerical office support! These volunteer positions work closely with our clients to make a huge impact on the community, and includes IRS security of information training but does not require you to become IRS certified for tax preparation.
